Revealed by a leak in early August, the new Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 watches have just been officially presented, and we now know their specifics and prices. Fitbit stays the course on health. Let’s take a closer look at their capabilities.
Fitbit Sense 2
Compared to the previous generation, the Fitbit Sense 2 is slightly lighter and thinner, with a square look and a single button. Its measurements include pulse measurement, EKG, SpO2, automatic exercise detection, sleep analysis, and stress measurement.
It is precisely in the measurement of stress where there are important novelties, since the Fitbit Sense 2 goes beyond its calculation through the variations in the pulse, with a new electrodermal activity sensor (cEDA) and the support of the analysis of the skin surface temperature. In addition to analyzing your stress throughout the day, it can guide you to manage it through breathing exercises, mindfulness sessions, and other tools.
The Fitbit Sense 2 has GPS, supports Bluetooth calling, and will soon allow payments through Google Wallet and directions through Google Maps, as well as being compatible with Alexa. Its battery has a typical life of 6 days and implements fast charging.
Fitbit Versa 4
On the other hand, we have the Fitbit Versa 4, the successor to the Fitbit Versa 3 from a couple of years ago. It’s a more “walk around the house” smartwatch, without the fancy cEDA sensors, electrocardiogram, or skin temperature sensor. Instead, he focuses on sports activities, of which he can recognize 40.
The Fitbit Versa 4 is also lighter and slimmer than the previous generation and will help you monitor your heart rate, SpO2, sleep, breathing, and stress. As with the Fitbit Sense 2, integration with Google Maps and Google Pay will come later, while Alexa compatibility comes as standard.
The Fitbit Versa 4 also promises up to 6 days of battery life on one charge. It has GPS, you can use it to make calls via Bluetooth and it also allows you to respond to notifications from the smartwatch if you use it paired with an Android mobile.
Price and Availability
The Fitbit Sense 2 is priced at $299.95 and the Versa 4 is priced at $229.95. Both are now available on the Fitbit website in pre-purchase mode. The devices will ship next September 29.
