The fourth generation (IV) of the first two phones was announced a few months ago. Now, information appears that Sony Xperia 5 IV has just been approved by the FCC certification agency. This is a sign that the launch time of this smartphone is not far away.
Sony Xperia 5 IV Specification Information Confirmed
Let me start with the most interesting information: Sony Xperia 5 IV is to support wireless charging. This is one of the few elements that was missing from the compact flagship.
Interestingly, despite adding the appropriate coils, the Xperia 5 IV will still be smaller than its predecessor. Its height is 155.74 mm (- 1.26 mm) and the width is 67.1 mm (-0.9 mm). Most likely this is due to the fact that the display has shrunk slightly to 6 inches.
The FCC also mentions a USB type C port, a 3.5 mm jack connector (brave Sony!), Wi-Fi 6, and NFC with FeliCa support for the Japanese market.
What else will Sony Xperia 5 IV offer?
More or less certain sources say that the Sony Xperia 5 IV will also be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a 120 Hz OLED screen, and a 12MP triple camera with a telephoto lens with a smooth optical zoom, or a 4500 or 5000mAh battery and dual stereo speakers.
This product could be announced at the IFA trade show, which is scheduled to take place from September 2 to 6.
