MediaTek wants to make competition with Qualcomm in the high-end segment. For this purpose, it has already launched several chips in the Dimensity series. However, none of them is attributed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip rival. Maybe the situation will change with the Dimensity 9000+. Today, a Weibo leaker said that the first gaming smartphone powered by this chip had already appeared in AnTuTu. Not surprisingly, it comes our way from ROG.
From the screenshot, we can see that t Dimensity 9000+ exceeds 290,000 points in the CPU test. By the way, this is the highest score in the Android camp (the Snapdragon 8+ CPU score is around 250,000 points). In terms of GPU benchmark points, the Dimensity 9000+ scored over 430,000 points, which is slightly lower than the 470,000 points of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
In effect, the total score of this gaming phone exceeded 1.14 million points. Thus, it is on par with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Is this sufficient to say that MediaTek could finally make a product comparable to the Qualcomm flagship chips?
As for parameters, the Dimensity 9000+ is MediaTek’s most powerful mobile phone Soc so far. It is based on TSMC’s 4nm process. As you understand, when designing this chip, MediaTek kept in mind that it would benchmark the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+.
The ultra-large core Cortex-X2 of this chip has a main frequency of 3.2GHz. There are also three 2.85GHz Cortex-A710 cores and four Cortex-A510 cores. It also integrates the Arm Mali-G710 MC10 graphics card. The CPU performance is improved by 5%, while the GPU performance is improved by 10%.
In terms of the phone that appeared in GeekBench, it’s the ROG Phone 6D. As the industry’s first Dimensity 9000+ gaming phone, the ROG Phone 6D’s performance is worth looking forward to.
