Though Motorola hasn’t announced this new phone yet, the handset’s official page is already live on its American website. Also, its Twitter account hints at a new phone launch on September 8. But we guess the phone will be announced much sooner. Anyway, the listing shows the key features of the Moto Edge 2022. Let’s get acquainted with the Moto Edge 2022.
This is the world’s premiere of the MediaTek Dimensity 1050 processor. Though the latter was announced back in May, no handset has been launched until today. This is also MediaTek’s first processor to support 5G millimeter waves. It adopts TSMC’s 6nm process technology and an octa-core architecture, including two Arm Cortex-A78 large cores clocked at 2.5GHz. The chipset also integrates the Arm Mali-G610 graphics.
As for the screen, the Moto Edge 2022 uses a 6.6-inch OLED punch-hole screen. The selfie camera holes is in the upper central part. The rest of the display parameters include a resolution of 2400*1080, a 144Hz refresh rate support, HDR10+, and a 10-bit color depth.
These two features are enough to understand this is a mid-range handset. But the rest of the specs prove this as well. For instance, the main camera has a 50MP resolution. Whereas the other two are the 13-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens. At the same time, the main camera supports OIS (optical image stabilization) and is capable of recording 4K videos at 60fps. On the front, we have a 32-megapixel lens.
The Moto Edge 2022 has a built-in 5000mAh battery, which supports 30W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 5W reverse charging. The rest of the features include Dolby Atmos dual speakers, support for Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, etc. The phone is available in two storage variants of 8G+128GB/256GB. And, of course, it comes with the Android 12 operating system out of the box.
The size of the whole machine is 160.86*74.24*7.99mm, the weight is 170g, and there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
