Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new premium smartphone Redmi. The company will launch the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition device this month. However, it should be noted that the exact release date of the phone is not known at this time. As the launch date nears, a Redmi phone with model number 22081212C has been spotted on the Geekbench website. The device with the aforementioned model number is believed to be the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition.
According to the listing, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 platform with a frequency of 3.19 GHz has been listed, in addition to the Adreno 730 GPU. The aforementioned variant has 12GB of RAM, but Redmi should launch an option with 8GB of RAM.
In terms of internal storage, the device should come with 128GB, 256GB, and probably 512GB options too. Geekbench also reveals that it runs Android 12 with the MIUI 13 interface. The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition scored 1339 points in the single-core test and 4389 in the multi-core test.
Specifications of the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition
The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is said to come with an FHD+ screen resolution and could have an AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The brand has already confirmed that it would be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which could be paired with up to 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB storage that might not be expandable. There is a possibility that the phone will be rebranded as Xiaomi 12T globally.
Earlier rumors suggested that the upcoming Redmi K50 series phone could come with a 200MP camera, but the latest update is that the phone will have a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM6 main camera, which will have an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth/macro lens. On the front, it could house a 20MP sensor for selfies and video chats.
The TENAA listing suggests that the phone will come with a 5000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. As we can see in Geekbench, the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition is likely to boot with the MIUI 13-based Android 12 operating system out of the box. We don’t know the exact launch date of the phone yet, but it will debut later this month.
