Smart door locks are very popular nowadays. The reason behind this is that the technologies used in them are already mature. So many companies can use them in their products. For instance, today, TP-LINK, which is basically known for its routers, released a new product dubbed the TP-LINK TL-SL31 Lite. The price is 599 yuan ($89), and the company calls it a “true automatic smart door lock”.
The main difference between this smart door lock and other similar products is that it doesn’t need an Internet connection or Bluetooth connection. Thus, the TP-LINK TL-SL31 Lite supports Wi-Fi direct connection. So without any additional devices, such as Bluetooth gateways, you can connect to the Internet and know the door lock status in real-time.
The TP-LINK TL-SL21 Lite supports one-grip unlocking and automatic locking when the door is closed. Officially, it is a real automatic door lock with an electronic lock body. Compared with the semi-automatic and fake automatic door locks on the market, there is no need for additional operations to open and close the door.
Apart from this, the TP-LINK TL-SL31 Lite adopts a financial-grade Swedish PB fingerprint detection algorithm. Its fingerprint recognition rate reaches 98.65%, and the recognition time is only 0.369 seconds. This smart door lock also supports long-term valid passwords, periodic valid temporary passwords, and one-time valid temporary passwords.
Getting back to safety, the rear door of the lock body can effectively prevent the removal of the front panel violently to open the door and electromagnetic interference. The built-in C-level lock cylinder supports various alarms. Say, it will notify you when the remaining power is low, there is a false door opening, the door is not closed, and there are multiple trials and errors as well as “black box” attacks.
In terms of battery life, the smart door lock has 8 built-in dry batteries. If using the smart door lock 10 times a day in local mode and it can be used continuously for 21 months. Even if the door lock is out of power, you can open it with a traditional key or through the Type-C emergency power supply port.
