There are notebooks for office work, home entertainment, and gaming. But the hybrid notebooks are becoming more and more popular. Such products try to be the so-called bucket machines with balanced performance, stylish look, and smart features. Today, Huawei released a similar product, namely the Huawei MateBook 14s. It’s a top-end ultrabook with the 12th generation Intel Core standard pressure processor and is fully certified by Evo.

Performance
The biggest selling point of this laptop is the hardware. The highest version comes with a Core i7 12700H processor with a maximum of 14 cores and 20 threads. When using the Fn+P combination, it can turn on the high-energy mode of 45W TDP.
As said, another selling point is the Intel Evo certification. It is a strict certification standard launched by Intel for notebooks. There are rigid standards from appearance to performance and interface. Based on real notebook usage environment testing, Intel engineers ensure that only notebooks with super performance, ultra-fast wake-up, ultra-long battery life, and other ultra-thin and light experiences can get this certification.
Inside, our protagonist also carries a 60Wh large battery. It can last for at least 9 hours. What’s more interesting, the battery supports 90W super-fast charging. Charge it for half an hour and use it for 4 hours. The interface also has a Thunderbolt 4 interface, a full-featured USBC interface, and many more.
Screen And Appearance
The Huawei MateBook 14s comes standard with a 2.5K high-definition touch screen with a resolution of 2520 × 1680 and a 3:2 productivity screen ratio. Thus, it can display more content than a traditional 16:9 screen. The rest of the screen parameters include a 90% high screen ratio, brightness up to 400nits, contrast ratio up to 1500:1[1], etc.
In terms of color calibration solutions, Huawei laptops are the first brand in the PC industry to use 3D LUT color correction technology for hardware-level global color management. 3D LUT finely divides and adjusts colors in different intervals, and is one of the most professional color correction options in the display field.
Additionally, the Huawei MateBook 14s adopts TÜV Rheinland hardware-level low blue light and no stroboscopic dual certification. There is also a light sensor, which can sense changes in ambient light and realize the intelligent adjustment of screen brightness.
The thickest part of the fuselage is about 16.7mm, and it is about 1.43kg. So you can carry it with you wherever you go. The body of the laptop has been made using a CNC drilling and cutting process, with 150 precision sandblasting. There are three color options to choose from – calm space gray, elegant silver, and vibrant spruce green.
System
Apart from a stylish look and powerful hardware, this laptop is also very smart. It integrates a large number of very useful functions such as long-distance clear voice pickup, smart conference, video beauty, and terminal cloud services developed by Huawei.
What we like is the “quiet space call” technology. The notebook can intelligently recognize the earphone wearer’s voice and extract the voiceprint. All disturbing sounds are filtered out. So when making calls or attending conferences in a noisy environment, it will look like you are in the office alone.
The Huawei MateBook 14s also supports voice commands. So you can launch apps or do other operations with common voice commands.
