The Huawei Mate 50 series may officially debut next month.
We have heard that the models from this lineup might still use a notch screen design. Thus, it will no longer use the waterfall screen. In this regard, a Weibo tipster said that Huawei Mate 50 Pro is still a function-driven product. Its front camera will bring a series of new features and functions in addition to the continuation of active face recognition unlocking.
For example, in the bangs of the Mate 20 Pro, we could find an infrared fill light, front camera, speckle projector, infrared camera, ambient light sensor, and a distance sensor. So the phone was able to realize 3D face recognition with high security.
He also mentioned that although there shouldn’t be many changes in the design, it’s going to look really stylish.
Also, the new Huawei Mate 50 series will come with some new features, especially, in terms of imaging. At the same time, it will run the latest HarmonyOS 3.0 system. The overall configuration is going to be stronger than that of the P50 series, but it is still a 4G model.
In addition, the Huawei Mate 50 series is expected to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 4G processor. But there should be a 5G smartphone case to make the phone connect 5G network as well.
It is worth mentioning that there are also some leaks proving the series will have a Kirin variant. It should be the new Kirin 9000s chip.
Compared with the P50 series, the camera has been improved too. The rear camera arrangement is similar to the Mate 30 series. Due to the new XMAGE imaging technology, it will be able to reach a level comparable to that of Leica.

In terms of specific models, the new Mate series will continue the previous plan of the series product line and launch three different models, namely Huawei Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 X.
