In March this year, the Honor X8 4G mobile phone debuted. It came with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and a quad-camera lens. Recently, we learned that the Honor X8 5G phone was launched globally as well. As you guess, its configuration differs from the 4G variant. For instance, this version comes with a Snapdragon 480+ chip and a 6GB+128GB storage combination.
The Snapdragon 480+ chip contains eight Kryo 460 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz. It integrates an Adreno 619 GPU and a Snapdragon X51 5G modem.
Apart from this, the Honor X8 5G phone sports a 6.5-inch FHD+ resolution screen with a 60Hz refresh rate. The waterdrop notch houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera. On the back, we have a triple camera. It consists of a 48-megapixel main lens, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Inside, we can also find a built-in 5000mAh battery that supports 22.5W charging.
What we can also point out is that our protagonist comes with a side fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In terms of software, the Honor X8 5G phone runs the Magic UI 4.2 operating system based on Android 11.
As you can see, the Honor X8 5G is a classic entry-level smartphone with interesting features. And though the manufacturer didn’t bring a follow-up model and just upgraded the chipset to make the phone support the 5G network, it’s still a very interesting device.
Unlike Huawei, Honor is very active in terms of launching new products. Moreover, this statement refers not only to smartphones but tablets, TVs, and other products as well. As you know, Huawei is under sanctions. There is no sign that this brand might recover in the nearest future. So Huawei had to free Honor and let it operate as an independent brand. And we have to say that this strategy works.
