There are only a couple of smartphone brands that still design and produce genuine gaming phones. Among them, we should mention ASUS’s ROG series and Nubia’s Red Magic series. (It seems Black Shark is withdrawing from the market, though Tencent’s acquisition has been refused recently.) Yesterday, we were talking about the ASUS ROG Gaming Phone 6, which had been spotted in GeekBench. Today, we learned that the phone had appeared in TENAA. Therefore, we know some key features and the actual look of the handset.
The design of the back cover has been changed and is marked with the word 06. Generally talking, the back of the phone looks like a true gaming smartphone. This is rare. Usually, smartphone makers try to make it identical to a traditional smartphone in order to attract more customers. For instance, Black Shark’s latest models did so.
Also, the ASUS ROG Gaming Phone 6 will sport a 6.78-inch OLED Samsung straight screen with a resolution of FHD+ and a screen refresh rate of 165Hz. Under the hood, there will be a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor supplemented by 18GB of large memory. The battery capacity will be 6000mAh. This dual-cell battery will support 65W fast charging. On the rear, we have a triple camera with a 64-megapixel main sensor. The rest of the known features include under-screen fingerprint unlocking, body thickness of up to 10.39mm, and a weight of 229g.
By the way, this will be the world’s first gaming smartphone coming with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip based on TSMC’s 4nm process. The main frequency of both the CPU and GPU is increased by 10%. The overall chip power consumption is reduced by 15%.
Unsurprisingly, the ROG Gaming Phone 6 has been deeply tuned by ROG. Also, it will come with Tencent’s customized Solar Core game acceleration engine, which can achieve in-depth optimization of Tencent’s entire series of games.
