ASUS will be one of the first manufacturers to launch smartphones powered by Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, Qualcomm’s new high-end platform. This Thursday (23), the ASUS ROG Phone 6 appeared on Geekbench confirming this detail and revealing new specifications of the Taiwanese gaming phone, such as its RAM capacity.
The model appeared on the benchmark site under its codename “ASUS_AI2201_F”, which will come with an Octa-Core processor, with 4 cores at 2.02GHz and another 4 cores at 3.19GHz.
It is, in fact, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which will bring the Adreno 730 graphics card. The device that appeared on Geekbench was equipped with 16GB RAM, but rumors indicate that ASUS would launch a variant with 18GB RAM. The phone is running Android 12, which was to be expected.
The results of the synthetic test indicate values of 1323 points for the Single-Core test and 4238 points for the Multi-Core test.
Other specifications of ASUS ROG Phone 6
In addition to being registered on the test site, the new gaming smartphone was also found in the TENAA certification, which that the model may have a version with a total of 18GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Thanks to certification it was also revealed that the model will come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display.
There will be a front sensor for selfies and 12MP video calls and a triple camera module on the rear with a 64MP main sensor, with one being able to have a 5x optical zoom, but this information may just be a translation error in the document. For power, the ASUS ROG Phone 6 will come with a dual 6000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging.
Thanks to a partnership with Tencent, the ASUS ROG Phone 6 will be able to run the games of the Chinese group in an optimized way. The presentation of the new flagship is expected for July 5.
