After Qualcomm unveiled the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, several smartphone brands confirmed the launch of new terminals equipped with this processor. And the Xiaomi 12 Ultra might actually be the first smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 + Gen 1 processor.
In a post shared through the social network Weibo, Lei Jun, founder, and CEO of the brand confirmed the launch of a flagship with this chipset in July. As much as he does not mention the Xiaomi 12 Ultra by name, it is not news to anyone that this device has been in development for some time, even receiving all the necessary certifications for presentation in China.
Lei Jun also adds that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 that bears the code name 8475 represents a big step forward in terms of performance and energy consumption. The processor was launched last month, which is in May 2022, and Xiaomi and Qualcomm have spent some time adjusting and debugging. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is an improved version of last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and is based on TSMC ‘s 4nm process.
