Large-size monitors are a must for content creators. Of course, there are multiple options on the market, but traditionally, Samsung has been known for its outstanding products. In this sense, the new ViewFinity S8 series is considered to be among the most alluring options. The 27- and 32-inch IPS LCD models boast of 4K (3,840 x 2,160 resolution) screens with accurate colors, a matte finish, and professional factory calibration. What’s more important, we are dealing with cost-effective models, priced around $1,000.
The Samsung ViewFinity series monitors promise “pinpoint accuracy and consistency” for designers, artists, and professionals, Samsung said. So it’s logical that these displays have a number of amazing features, including 98% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, up to 1 billion colors (probably using 8-bit + FRC and not true 10-bit panels), Pantone validation, and factory calibration. By the way, the larger model has VESA’s DisplayHDR 600 category certification, which simply means it’s ideal for HDR work. At the same time, the 27-inch model has a VESA DisplayHDR 400 category rating.
We are dealing with monitors that should be perfect for content creators. We mean they should be able to rotate, tilt, and swivel. They do. Apart from this, the IPS panel provides a good enough brightness at any viewing angle. Plus, as said above, it comes with a matte finish, which reduces reflections. So you won’t need a monitor hood.
The Samsung ViewFinity S8 series monitors can also work as all-in-one docks for desktops or laptops. You only need a phone, tablet, or laptop with up to 90W of USB-C power delivery, and it will turn into a very powerful computer. Anyway, its main purpose is to create content. Thus, you will sit too long in front of it. So Samsun brought intelligent eye care, the adaptive picture for optimized quality in any viewing environment, eye saver mode, and flicker-free technology.
Both versions will appear on the shelves by the end of June. As you guess, the launch dates will vary from region to region. The 32-inch model costs 820,000 won in Korea ($634), while the 27-inch model is 720,000 won ($557).
