We know folding screen smartphones are very trendy now. And what’s more interesting, there are only a few players in the segment. Of course, in the near future, we will see many new brands entering the field, but at the moment, there are only several ones. Well, Motorola has nothing to worry about. We mean it has been among the firsts and has managed to make a name due to the Motorola Razr clamshell smartphones. The latter will get its third iteration, namely the Motorola Razr 3. Today, a Weibo tipster talked about a new vertical inward folding screen phone with a screen size of 6.7 inches and equipped with Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8+ processor. From the parameters, we can understand that he is talking about the Razr 3 that Motorola is about to release.
The blogger also revealed that the screen of the new phone uses a single-punch-hole design and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. However, there is also a small secondary screen on the back that can preview various information. Anyway, the camera placed in the hole on the front has a 32MP resolution. Whereas the camera on the back will include a 50MP sensor as well as a 13MP secondary lens.
Also, from the blogger, we learned that this handset will come with a 2800mAh battery. This is too small and we still can’t imagine how it will handle various tasks set by the much-powerful Snapdragon 8+ processor. Of course, the latter has a better power consumption control. But it doesn’t mean that the 2800mAh battery capacity is enough for current smartphones. For instance, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 folding flagship will boast a battery capacity of 3700mAh.
Previously, the well-known whistleblower onleaks showed the real photo of the Motorola Razr 3. We saw that the latter adopts a crease-free design and may use the star orbit hinge technology. This is Motorola’s exclusive patented technology, which solves the pain point of many similar phones. We mean when the corner is too large, it cannot be flattened when folded.
It is expected that this clamshell smartphone will be first released in China in late July.
