When talking about folding screen smartphones, Samsung is the first brand coming to our mind. But what’s odd is we mainly think about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, while the clamshell Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is overshadowed. Anyway, the latter will be announced along with the former and it will have a certain place in Samsung’s assortment. In this regard, it’s quite interesting to learn about its key features and get acquainted with the basic design elements. Recently, a Twitter blogger @TechTalkTV posted a set of pictures and claimed that they belong to the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip4.
Judging from the pictures, the overall appearance of the new phone has not changed much when compared with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. When unfolded, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 seems to have fewer creases, and the secondary screen on the back looks larger. However, when it is folded, not everything is ideal.
As for the biggest highlights, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 flagship processor. So it turns out we are talking about the world’s first Snapdragon 8+ dual-screen folding phone.
As Qualcomm’s strongest Snapdragon processor so far, the maximum frequency of the Cortex-X2 super core has been increased to 3.2GHz, and the power consumption has been greatly optimized. Officially, the CPU power consumption is reduced by about 30% compared with the Snapdragon 8, and the GPU power consumption is reduced by up to 30%. The overall power consumption of the platform is reduced by about 15% compared with the Snapdragon 8.
Lastly, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a screen size of 6.7 inches and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The secondary screen on the back is made of 2.1-inch sAMOLED material.
At present, it has obtained 3C certification and will be released in the second half of this year.
