Today, Lenovo updated its Legion gaming notebooks series, launching the R9000P 2022 and R7000P 2022. In some sense, they are the AMD versions of the Intel variants launched earlier this year.
Lenovo Legion R7000P Specs And Price
The R7000P 2022 is still positioned as an e-sports notebook. The overall design is very similar to the Core version of the Y7000P 2022. It is slightly heavier, weighing 200g. Also, it is available in metal and titanium gray color options.
As for key features, in addition to the processor, some targeted adjustments have been made to the screen, graphics card, and interfaces.
Customers can choose from two processors. One is the Radeon 7 6800H with 8 cores and 16 threads. Its peak frequency is 4.7GHz. The other is the Radeon 5 6600H, coming with 6 cores and 12 threads. Its highest frequency is 4.5GHz.
Moreover, there are also two types of graphics cards. They are mid-to-low-end RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050. Also, the laptop supports DDG 2.5, including independent display direct connection, hybrid mode, and integrated display mode. You can switch between these modes intelligently without restarting.
The processor can reach up to 80W, an increase of 10W over the previous generation. The graphics cards are all 95W. Thus, there are no improvements in comparison to the previous generation. The whole machine is up to 140W, which is also 5W higher than the previous generation.
As for the cooling system, the laptop uses the Frost Blade 4.0, which comes with two fans and three composite heat pipes of 8mm+8mm+10mm.
Compared with the Lenovo Y7000P 2022, the 15.6-inch gaming screen adds support for AMD’s exclusive FreeSync Premium tear-proof technology. At the same time, it supports NVIDIA G-Sync.
Other features remain unchanged, including the 2560×1440 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, 100% sRGB color gamut, 300 nits brightness, 3ms response time, 8-bit native color depth, support for Dolby Vision, and DC dimming without flicker.
The laptop sports a DDR5-4800 memory, which boasts two dual channels as standard. The hard disk is a TLC SSD, with an M.2 interface reserved. All support PCIe 4.0 x4 and are equipped with heat sinks.
The Lenovo Legion R7000P features an 80Whr battery. Inside the box, you can also find an original adapter 230W/300W, which supports 135W charging through USB-C. In the PCMark 10 modern office endurance test, it can reach 9 hours and 15 minutes of battery life.
This is a gaming laptop, which simply means you will plug many peripherals. That’s why there are tons of useful and very fast interfaces, such as RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port, full-featured USB-C 3.1 (supports DP1.4/PD but not Thunderbolt 4), HDMI 2.1, USB-A 3.0, USB-A 3.1 (5V/2A shutdown charging ), two full-featured USB-Cs on the left, one USB-A 3.0, one 3.5mm on the right, and an electronic camera switch.
The rest of the features include a 2×2 Wi-Fi 6E wireless network card, Nahimic sound speakers, a 720p camera, and more.
As said above, the Lenovo Legion R7000P 2022 will be available in four configurations. The initial prices are:
- Radeon 7 6800H/RTX 3050 Ti: 7299 yuan ($1088)
- Radeon 5 6600H/RTX 3050 Ti: 6899 yuan ($1028)
- Radeon 7 6800H/RTX 3050: 6999 yuan ($1043)
- Radeon 5 6600H/RTX 3050: 6599 yuan ($984)
The laptop is already available for pre-order, and it will start shipping on June 17.
Lenovo Legion R9000P Specs And Price
The Lenovo Legion R9000P 2022 uses the same mold as the previous Y9000P, with a double-sided metal design, a 16-inch four-narrow-edge full screen, and a screen-to-body ratio of 92.3%, a thickness of 19.9 to 26.4mm, and a weight of 2.55 kg. Like the model above, it is 200h heavier than the Y9000P.
The screen is one of the selling points of the Lenovo Legion R9000P 2022. The display supports a 165Hz high refresh rate, the response time is only 5ms, and even only 3ms after OD. Other parameters include DC dimming, TUV low blue light and TUV game performance certifications, etc.
In terms of hardware, the Lenovo Legion R9000P 2022 sports the Radeon 7 6800H processor, which has 8 cores and 16 threads, and the graphics card is optional RTX 3060 and RTX 3070 Ti. The overall performance is stronger. It reached to 185W compared with the previous generation, and the maximum performance of the graphics card is 150W, which is higher by 10W. Also, the CPU performance release reached 85W, which is 5W higher.
Other differences refer to the ports. Since the Radeon platform does not support the Thunderbolt 4 interface, it is replaced by the conventional USB-C 3.1.
As for other specs, it boasts an 80Wh battery, DDG multi-mode display, Frost Blade Pro 4.0 cooling, 135W USBC power supply, etc.
In terms of price, the RTX 3060 version of Lenovo Legion R9000P 2022 is priced at 9,499 yuan ($1416), and the RTX 3070 Ti version of R9000P 2022 is priced at 11,699 yuan ($1744).
