Nothing Phone (1) Will Be Announced On July 12

Today, Nothing issued an official statement, according to which, its first smartphone dubbed the Nothing Phone (1) will be uncovered on July 12. “This is our first smartphone and our most important product.”

For those who are unaware, Nothing is the company of OnePlus ex-founder, Carl Pei. They have been working on their first model for a long time. A couple of months ago, the phone was demoed at MWC in Barcelona. And now, it turns out the first Nothing Phone (1) will be launched in a month.

Well, the phone has been the talk of the town for many months. And it’s logical to know that it has been spotted for myriads times. For instance, we know that it will sport a 6.55-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Moreover, the first Nothing Phone will adopt a straight screen design. The screen borders will have equal width and be extremely narrow. But if the three bezels it’s common, not all smartphone makers are able to make the chin narrow.

Under the hood, this smartphone will host the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 or Snapdragon 778G chip. We guess the SoC will be accompanied by at least 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Also, the Nothing Phone (1) will likely come pre-installed with a custom system based on the latest Android 12.

In terms of camera, the Nothing Phone (1) is rumored to come with a 50MP main camera (OIS) and a transparent back cover.

The battery capacity will be 4500mAh / 5000mAh, and of course, it will support fast charging through the USB Type-C port.

Last month, the Nothing Phone (1) render was leaked on the net. Though the render didn’t disclose any specific details, we could see that the handset will use a punch-hole screen design. On the back, we could see two big circles. But we still can’t understand are they for the camera system or if we are dealing with design elements.

The target price of the phone is 500 euros.
