Xiaomi has been always thinking not only about its customers’ health but their security as well. That’s why in its assortment of products, you can find many top-end smart door locks. Today, the company introduced a new one, namely the Xiaomi smart door lock M20. The latter costs 1,799 yuan ($270) and is already available for pre-order.
The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock M20 adopts a full-board push-pull design, a high-strength alloy middle frame, and an integrated IML process. It has an original anti-pinch hand design, which can be customized according to the opening and closing direction of the door, so as to avoid accidental pinching of the sliding door.
Inside, the door lock carries a Mijia security chip. So all private data such as fingerprints, long-term passwords, and periodic passwords are encrypted and stored locally. Thus, the smart door lock can’t leak any data or transmit it over the network.
The Mi Smart Door Lock M20 is also equipped with a fully automatic lock body that has its own power system. After the verification is passed, the main lock tongue is quickly retracted. So the door can be opened by pushing and pulling the handle. At the same time, the door is automatically locked when you leave home to prevent tailgating.
In addition, the main lock tongue can withstand 6000N lateral pressure, and it uses an in-line C-level lock cylinder for safety through the structure to prevent disassembly by an external force. With multiple sensors built into the lock body, it can monitor the door lock status in real time. Used together with devices with Bluetooth gateway function, the door lock abnormal alarm can also be viewed remotely through the app.
The Xiaomi smart door lock M20 supports seven unlocking methods, such as fingerprint unlocking, password unlocking, periodic/one-time password, NFC password, mobile phone Bluetooth unlocking, Homekit seven unlocking methods, fingerprint, long-term password, and temporary password. Also, it uses 8 AA batteries for power supply and has a battery life of up to 10 months. In an emergency, it can be unlocked through the Type-C port of the outer door lock.
Lastly, in terms of quality control, the fingerprint head of the Xiaomi smart door lock M20 has undergone 100,000 endurance tests/48-hour sweat resistance tests, 100,000 door opening and closing tests, and -25°C-55°C temperature tolerance tests.
