Today, via 91mobiles, we learned that the new generation of Moto Edge 2022 will hit the stores in the third quarter. There will be several selling points such as a 5000mAh battery and a rear triple-camera. However, the biggest surprise is that our protagonist will support the stylus.
The Moto Edge 2022 is codenamed Dubai+. Apart from the leaked specs list, today, @Onleaks (Steve Hemmerstoffer) provided renders of the forthcoming smartphone.
The Motorola Moto Edge 2022 adopts a slightly curved design. There is a Motorola logo in the middle of the back. Plus, we can see the Motorola brand name at the bottom.
From the picture, we can also see that the upcoming phone will carry a USB Type-C interface on the bottom. As said, the back will host a triple camera with an oval lens matrix design. Also, the LED flash is located in the upper right corner of the module. The Moto Edge 2022 will feature a rear 50MP main camera (OIS), a 13MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The Motorola Moto Edge 2022 power button and volume button are located on the right side. On the front, it has a hole for the selfie camera. It has a 32MP resolution. The overall size is about 160.8 x 74.2 x 8.2 mm (including the rear camera bump of 10.1 mm).
This model will sport a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ resolution pOLED display. The latter will also support a 144Hz refresh rate and a 2400 × 1080 pixel resolution. Inside, it will carry a MediaTek Dimensity MT6879 processor, a built-in 5000mAh battery, and 6GB / 8GB RAM + 128GB / 256GB memory combinations.
The MT6879 will consist of two Cortex-A78 cores (2.6 GHz) and six A55s (2.0 GHz) cores and a yet-to-be-seen Mali-G79 GPU. It’s expected slightly fall behind the Dimensity 8000. By the way, MediaTek has previously released the Dimensity 1050 and 930 chips. And phones powered by these SoCs are scheduled to appear on the market next quarter as well. So there is every reason to think that the mentioned MT6879 might be one of the Dimensity 1050/930.
