Some smartphones make furor when launched, while others appear on the shelves quietly. We understand that manufacturers should not gather people to announce all of their products. But customers ought to be informed about the new launches. In this sense, you can always check our news because we will keep you informed on what’s happening in this field even if the new releases are not top products. The same is true for the newly-launched OPPO A77 mid-range smartphone. Interestingly, this is not a 4G phone that OPPO launched back in May 2017 but a completely new model, which supports a 5G network.
The OPPO A77 5G comes with a refined appearance as well as a better configuration. For instance, our protagonist sports a 6.56-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 600 nits peak brightness. At the same time, it supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. On the front, we can also find an 8-megapixel selfie camera, which is placed in the hole in the upper middle area.
The back of the machine uses a rectangular camera module with two LED flashes and two cameras: a 48-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The former can even take 100-megapixel photos due to some software features. The phone’s rear panel adopts an OPPO Glow design. According to the manufacturer, it is scratch- and abrasion-resistant.
The OPPO A77 5G is powered by the Dimensity 810 SoC and runs ColorOS 12.1. Apart from this, there is 6GB of memory. But due to the memory fusion technology, it can take 5GB of virtual memory from the storage and expand the memory capacity. The native storage capacity is 128GB. The latter also supports microSD card expansion.
The OPPO A77 5G has a built-in 5000mAh battery that supports 33W charging, which can charge 53% in 30 minutes and 100% in 69 minutes. Other highlights include IPX4 water resistance, NFC, side-mounted fingerprint scanners, and stereo speakers.
The OPPO A77 5G is available in Ocean Blue and Midnight Black color variants. The price in Thailand is 9,999 baht (about $292). The sales will commence on June 10. However, we still have no information on whether it will be available in other markets as well.
