The gaming smartphone market is getting less attractive to the major smartphone makers. Prior to this, it has been one of the main directions they were working on. But now, folding screen smartphones have replaced it. Anyway, there are still a few big players that are designing new gaming handsets. Nubia is one of them. Today, from a Weibo tipster, we learned that a new gaming smartphone called the Red Magic 7S Pro is on the road.
In February this year, Nubia released a new gaming phone, the Red Magic 7 Pro. It was the world’s first gaming handset sporting an under-screen camera. Thus, it was the world’s first genuine full-screen gaming handset.
Today, the blogger said that the Red Magic 7S Pro has got network access. Thus, the world’s second true full-screen under-screen smartphone will hit the stores in the near future.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus Is The Key Feature
The Red Magic 7S Pro will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip, which is the enhanced variant of the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The main difference is the use of TSMC’s 4nm process instead of Samsung’s 4nm process node. The chip, multi-drive ACE circuit, and the area under the screen adopt tripod-shaped pixel arrangement and wave-shaped electrode feature.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus mobile platform has a core frequency upgraded to 3.2GHz, but the GPU will remain unchanged. However, thanks to TSMC’s advanced technology, the power consumption of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor will drop by 30% in comparison to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The overall performance is believed to be much better than that of the original model.
Other Specs Of Red Magic 7S Pro
Apart from this, the Red Magic 7 Pro came with a built-in RGB active cooling fan. It is a rare solution in gaming phones. But as the current model already uses such an approach, there is every reason to think the forthcoming Red Magic 7S Pro will continue using it. In combination with the enhanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus, the phone is believed to be a true beast.
As for charging, the Red Magic 7S Pro will support up to 135W charging power and come standard with a 165W gallium nitride charger. This is consistent with the previous generation.
