Earlier today, ZTE’s new product conference kicked off. The company uncovered two outstanding models, namely the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra and Axon 40 Pro. They are already available for pre-order and the sales will commence on May 13.

ZTE Axon 40 Ultra Biggest Highlights
Well, one of the selling points is the display. The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra comes with a new third-generation under-screen camera technology, which uses a new 400PPI flexible under-screen camera. The display also comes with a full-screen blue diamond arrangement, independent pixel driver, distributed transparent circuit, UDC Pro screen display chip, and many more.
The 6.8-inch AMOLED flexible curved screen has a resolution of 2480×1116, a 71° curvature, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate. The vertical projection distance of the two sides of the border is 0.6mm. Plus, the screen supports 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, while it covers 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 10bit color depth, 1.07 billion colors, and has passed TÜV Rheinland low blue light eye protection certification.
In terms of the rear camera, the machine uses a 64MP custom IMX787 ultra-wide-angle main lens, a 64MP custom IMX787 super humanistic main lens, and a 64MP periscope telephoto main lens. Thus, we are dealing with the industry’s first smartphone with three main 64MP sensors. The ZTE Axon40 Ultra supports Steadicam-level full-system image stabilization, providing dual OIS + EIS.
The phone comes with two Sony IMX787 sensors and supports full-pixel omnidirectional focusing. The main camera has a 35mm equivalent focal length, 7P lens, OIS, etc. The ultra-wide-angle main lens comes with ultra-low distortion and supports wide-angle macro shooting and autofocus. The periscope lens supports up to 5.7x optical zoom, comes with a 1/2-inch outsole, and supports OIS.
In addition, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is currently the only flagship phone in the industry that supports triple-camera lightning capture. It adopts a custom adaptive shutter shadow tracking algorithm to support the fast capture of images. It is also the only three-camera that supports preset focus.
All cameras support 8K Ultra HD video recording. The machine also supports super night scene video, super night scene, multi-camera simultaneous recording and shooting, smart moon, starry sky enhancement, AI constellation, humanistic filter, etc.
In other aspects, the machine is equipped with dual speakers that provide DTS Ultra sound effects. The X-axis linear motor has 5ms of start-stop time, of which the steady-state vibration is increased by 46%, while the transient vibration is increased by 157%.

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra sports a new generation of Snapdragon 8 + LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 and a super dual-channel VC liquid cooling system. The handset boasts an L1+L5 dual-frequency positioning, infrared remote control, NFC, Independent security chip, X-axis linear motor, USB-C 3.1, a thickness of 8.41mm, etc.
ZTE Axon 40 Pro Specs
This is not so powerful as its sibling. The ZTE Axon 40 Pro comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 processor, adopts a 6.67-inch 2400×1080 OLED hyperbolic screen, which supports intelligent adjustment of 60-144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, peak brightness of 1000niits, 100% DCI-P3, 10bit color depth, etc. There are also DTS sound effect dual speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and NFC support.
The phone’s 100MP camera uses an aperture of f1.89, a large 1/1.52-inch sensor size, and a 2.1μm equivalent pixel unit. There are also 8MP, 120° ultra-wide-angle, and 2MP 4cm macro sensors. The front-facing camera has a 16MP resolution.
In addition, the ZTE Axon 40 Pro is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which supports a 66W fast charging. The phone is 8.46mm thick and weighs 199g. There are three colors to choose from: Magic Night Black, Crystal Mist Blue, and Starlight Orange.
