Earlier today, a Weibo blogger was talking about a Xiaomi phone. He revealed that Xiaomi is currently testing a new smartphone with a 150W charging solution. It is based on Qualcomm’s new platform.
In other words, this new phone will be equipped with Qualcomm’s new platform and 150W super-fast charging at the same time. So there is every reason to think that the new phone will set a new record, at least, among the Xiaomi phones.
The blogger did not mention the specific model information. However, according to Xiaomi’s product line planning, the flagships that have not been launched this year include the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra, MIX 5 series, and MIX FOLD 2 folding screen handset. Honestly, any of them can come with such a high-power charging solution.
We should note that at present, multiple sources have revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra is almost ready for launch. We mean the phone has been leaked several times and we can assume that the phone with a 150W charging solution should be the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra. It is tentatively scheduled to debut at the end of Q2. So if nothing accidental happens, it will hit the stores in May-June. Also, there have been rumors that this phone might debut the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chip. Unfortunately, this information doesn’t allow us to think that Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra is the phone that is being tested currently. Most likely, it will come with a 120W fast charging. This model will also focus more on the imaging rather than performance.
In this regard, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra may adopt a three main camera system + ultra-telephoto lens solution. The system will include a high-pixel 5x telephoto lens. Also, we expect some self-developed new technologies. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be able to retain its leading position in Dxo.
The previously exposed renders also show that the footprint of the rear camera part of the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra is very exaggerated, covering the upper half of the entire back. If nothing else, a larger lens means a stronger imaging effect to a certain extent.
In addition, the rear camera of the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra in the render also supports Leica technologies. There have been many leaks that the phone will reach cooperation with Leica and become Xiaomi’s first high-end flagship phone certified by Leica.
