VIVO X Fold Uses New Hinge Design
The VIVO X Fold has obtained the world’s first TUV Rheinland folding worry-free certification, which means that its hinge supports more than 300,000 folds. According to the calculation of 80 folding times per day, the VIVO X Fold can be used normally for about 10 years, surpassing the replacement cycle of most consumers.
In order to optimize the crease, the VIVO X Fold adopts two special designs. One is the floating middle plate. The one-piece zirconium alloy keel supports the entire hinge, imitating the biological characteristics of bird wings.
The second is UTG ultra-tough glass, which can reduce plastic deformation and allow a smaller water droplet structure. It can be bent 1 million times at room temperature and 200,000 times at low temperature. The overall increase is 1.3 times that of ordinary folding screens.
The hinge of the VIVO X Fold has 174 parts, using titanium alloy, liquid metal zirconium alloy, F53 aviation high-strength steel, 0.3mm 301 hand-tear steel sheet, carbon fiber board, 18Ni250, and other six aviation materials.
Screens
In terms of internal screen, it is an 8.03-inch super-sensing folding giant screen with E5 luminous material, Samsung’s diamond arrangement, 2K+ resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. Plus, there is a superconducting anti-reflective coating on the top, which makes the eyes more comfortable to see. Other than that, the screen supports a self-developed adaptive refresh based on LTPO debugging and obtained 19 Display Mate A+ folding screen certifications.
The outer screen of VIVO X Fold is a 6.53-inch micro-curved screen with a resolution of 2520*1080.
At the same time, the VIVO X Fold has the world’s first internal and external dual 120Hz E5 screen. They come with large sound cavity stereo symmetrical dual speakers and an independent Hi-Fi chip. The phone uses the company’s own calibration technology. The VIVO X Fold also supports a 60-120-degree hover effect.
As for multitasking, the VIVO X Fold not only supports basic multitasking functions but also adapts to multiple windows in the horizontal screen state. Users can also activate split screens and small windows at the same time, and files can be pasted or sent by dragging and dropping between windows.
Interestingly, the VIVO X Fold is also the world’s first folding screen handset coming with a dual-screen fingerprint recognition solution. It has 3D ultrasonic dual-screen fingerprints, and the fingerprint pairing algorithm capability enables single-screen entry and dual-screen use.
There is also a physical mute button. The VIVO X Fold is claimed to have the smallest bending radius of 2.3mm in the industry.
The folding thickness is 14.91mm, the unfolding thickness is 7.4mm, and the weight is 310.86 grams.
