Realme Pad mini Officially Hits The Philippine Market

Realme is OPPO’s sub-brand. It’s helping the company to run a dual-brand strategy not fall behind its rivals. We mean all major brands in the market have their second brands. Usually, the latter focus on more cost-effective models, allowing the basic brands to promote their main lineups. Moreover, like other companies, Realme has been initially designing only smartphones. But now, there are many smartphone-related products under this brand such as tablets, earphones, etc. Recently, we learned that a new small-size tablet will come our way from this brand and it will be called the Realme Pad mini. Today, the latter was officially launched in the Philippine market.

In fact, the name of this tablet might be confusing. We mean initially, we have been thinking it is going to be a mid-range tablet. However, you shouldn’t be disappointed to know that it is a low-end device with corresponding features.

For instance, the Realme Pad mini uses an 8.7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 1340 x 800. It’s not a full HD screen, but with stereo speakers and a compact design that’s easy to hold with one hand, it can be an excellent choice for reading news or a good device for twittering, watching videos or playing some light games.

Under the hood, it hosts a UNISOC T616 chip, which supports a 4G network. Apart from this connectivity option, there is also Wi-Fi 802.11a /b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 support as well.

As for the chip, UNISOC released this chip in September last year. This is an octa-core LTE platform with further enhanced imaging capabilities, featuring a Mali-G57 MP1 graphics core. It is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage.

Well, on the rear, the Realme Pad Mini features an 8 MP camera with an aperture of f/2.0. But there is no LED flash. The front-mounted camera has a 5MP resolution and an f/2.2 aperture.

In addition, the device is also equipped with a 6400mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Other than that, surprisingly, this tablet supports reverse charging.

The tablet runs on the Android 11 system.

The tablet comes with a USB-C port on the bottom, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. The overall weight is 372 grams, and it measures 211.8 x 124, 48 x 7.6 mm.


The Realme Pad Mini is available in grey and blue. The 3/32 GB Wi-Fi + LTE version is PHP9990 (about $194), while the 4/64 GB Wi-Fi + LTE version is PHP11990 ($233), and there are reports that a cheaper 3/32GB Wi-Fi version will be launched later. The tablet is already available for purchase.
