Realme has already released its first tablet, namely the Realme Pad. It’s a mid-range product that is challenging the models such as the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. Now, there is the first news concerning a new model. The second tablet will be called the Realme Pad Mini. As the name suggests, it will be a small-size model, benchmarking the iPad mini. But it still remains unknown whether this product will be powered by features making it comparable to the Apple product.
Interestingly, this tablet is planned to be launched in the Philippines. Thus, this is going to be the first Realme product to land outside China.
Realme Pad mini Specs
Today, we already saw the tablet on the e-commerce platform Lazada. The latter showed that it will be released in the Philippines on April 4. According to the exposed specifications, the tablet will come with an 8.7-inch screen, a 6400mAh battery supporting 18W charging, a Unisoc T616 chip, etc. The tablet will also have a thickness of 7.6mm.
In addition, the tablet will run Realme UI for Pad, based on the Android 11 operating system. However, prior to this, Realme was inactive when it came to providing software updates to its products. So there is every reason to think that the company will do its best to provide more frequent updates to the Realme Pad mini tablet.
Unisoc T616 Chip
As for the processor, Unisoc released a new generation of 4G chip platform T616 with an octa-core architecture in August last year. T616 is based on DynamIQ’s new generation of large and small core architecture design, 12nm process, consists of two 2.0 GHz Arm Cortex-A75 cores and six 1.8 GHz Arm Cortex-A55 cores. At the same time, it integrates a new generation of Mali G57 GPU, which is promised to provide a way better performance than its predecessors. In terms of connection, the data transmission performance of T616 has been further upgraded. We mean, now, it supports UFS 2.1 storage.
The Lazada website also released a promotional video. From it, we can see that the Realme Pad Mini comes in two colors.
At the beginning of the article, we said that this tablet (taking into consideration its name) should make competition to the iPad mini. But after getting acquainted with its key features, we understand that it is a low-end product that is aimed at those who don’t have many expectations from tablets.
