There are only a few companies in the world that have launched folding screen smartphones. Huawei is one of them. And though this brand is no longer the king in the Chinese smartphone market, there is some fuel in its tank. When saying this we mean that Huawei might release foldable smartphones and this could become its salvation. Many analysts believe that Huawei has much more potential to design folding handsets than Apple.
Huawei Mate X3 Is On The Way
Moreover, a number of related companies have said that they are optimistic about the future folding screen smartphones market. Moreover, some have begun making larger industrial layouts.
Returning to Huawei, a Weibo blogger hinted at a new foldable smartphone, namely the Huawei Mate X3. He said that this handset is in the works and might hit the market later this year.
Huawei Mate X2
In February this year, Huawei launched a special Spring Festival version of the Mate X2 mobile phone. But it can’t be considered as a next-gen model. However, this phone sports 12GB of memory + 1TB of storage and is priced at 20,999 yuan ($3322).
In November last year, Huawei released the Mate X2 collector’s edition and plain leather models. Both of them have a 12GB + 512GB storage combination. The Mate X2 Collector’s Edition is priced at 18,999 yuan ($3006) and was officially launched in November 2021; the Mate X2 Collector’s Edition plain leather model is priced at 19,699 yuan ($3117) and was officially launched in December 2021.
In terms of parameters, this phone is equipped with Kirin 9000 chip and supports a 5G network. It adopts internal and external dual-screen design, both supporting a 90Hz high refresh rate and DCI-P3 wide color gamut. Among them, the 8-inch folding flexible inner screen has an ultra-high resolution of 2480×2200 and a pixel density of 412ppi. The external screen size of the mobile phone is 6.45 inches, with a resolution of 2700×1160, the pixel density reaches 456 PPI, and the touch sampling rate is increased to 240Hz.
The Huawei Mate X2 mobile phone is equipped with a Leica-enabled quad-camera. The main camera has a 50-megapixel super-sensing camera with a 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor and supports OIS. In addition, it also supports 10x optical zoom. The 8-megapixel periscope camera has a 100x digital zoom capability. The ultra-wide-angle camera of the mobile phone has a 16MP resolution as well as an f/2.2 aperture. The 3x telephoto camera has a 12MP resolution, an aperture of f/2.4, and supports optical image stabilization.
