The Xiaomi Mi 10 series was quite popular because it was the first lineup of the company that brought true flagship models. Among several products, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra was a true beast that has almost no equals on the market. In March last year, Xiaomi released the next-gen flagship Mi 11 Ultra, known as the “Light of Android”. So it’s logical that many people are waiting for the follow-up Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra smartphone.

Prior to this, a Weibo blogger said that the suspected Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra code-named “l1” model had entered the mass-production phase.
Today, a set of renders claimed to belong to the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra was leaked. From the pictures, we can see that the phone will have many design elements consistent with the previous leaks. For instance, we can notice that the phone still adopts a huge Oreo circular camera module. It occupies a lot of space on the back panel. Honestly, such a design is quite recognizable and also showcases the powerful photography capabilities of the device. However, we should say that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra’s secondary phone has been removed. In fact, no smartphone with a secondary screen has succeeded before. And we didn’t understand why Xiaomi was trying to resurrect such a design. Anyway, the next-gen model will lack it and it’s good.
Other than that, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra will continue to sport a periscope telephoto lens as well as a high-pixel 5x telephoto lens. So the imaging effect is expected to be quite good. Also, the phone will come with some new technologies developed by itself. That’s why there is every reason to think the upcoming handset will continue to dominate the DXoMark list and become the best camera phone in 2022.
It is worth mentioning that according to another blogger, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra will be the first flagship to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1+ chip. In addition to technological changes, the Snapdragon 8+ is expected to have a slight improvement in CPU frequency and chip energy efficiency, and the overall performance will not be much different from the Snapdragon 8.
Well, we guess you knew most of this before. But you should also remember that there was news saying the company will launch only one ultra-flagship this year and it will be called the Xiaomi Mi MIX 5 Pro. The latter and the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra are believed to be the same handset. So it still remains unknown which name the company will choose at launch.
