Today, ZTE’s sub-brand released one of the most powerful smartphones in the history, namely the Nubia Z40 Pro.
In terms of price, the 8+128GB version is 3399 yuan ($538), the 8+256GB version is 3699 yuan ($586), the 12+256GB version is 3999 yuan ($633), and the 12+512G version is 4499 yuan ($712).
Nubia Z40 Pro Camera
Well, maybe the Nubia Z40 Pro is not the most powerful model in terms of hardware and configuration, but it comes with the strongest imaging system. The phone is the industry’s first imaging phone with a customized optical system. The main camera uses the customized Sony IMX787 CMOS with a customized equivalent focal length of 35mm. According to Nubia, 35mm is more in line with the human eye’s perspective. So the composition can be purer. The main body is prominent, and unnecessary cluttered backgrounds are excluded. Apart from this, this customized 35mm optical lens can suppress the edge distortion within 1%. Compared with the 26mm lens of the previous generation product, the optical distortion is reduced by 35%.
In addition, the Nubia Z40 Pro has added an adaptive shutter shadow tracking algorithm to perform AI motion detection on the target object. At the same time, it can detect the degree of shaking of the mobile phone itself. Due to various algorithms, it can intelligently adjust the exposure parameters of the shutter according to the scene. The camera also supports multi-frame RAW data fusion, AI neural network noise reduction, image fusion calculation and depth optimization. In effect, it is capable of shooting outstanding photos.
More importantly, the Nubia Z40 Pro has achieved full-link DCI-P3 color gamut coverage from image shooting – color calibration – gallery color gamut management – screen display. In simple words, the photos taken by its camera can show humanistic true colors.
As for the sensors’ parameters, the rear-mounted triple camera includes a 64-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. The front-mounted 16-megapixel camera will provide users with high-res selfies and video calls.
Hardware and Performance
In terms of core configuration, the Nubia Z40 Pro uses a 6.67-inch flexible curved screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a resolution of 2400×1080. It also sports the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The battery has a 5000mAh capacity and supports 80W wired fast charging.
In addition, the Nubia Z40 Pro adopts a full three-dimensional embracing heat dissipation design as well as a waterfall-type rapid heat conduction. The system fully guarantees the efficient performance of the CPU. The machine has built-in large-area VC liquid-cooled soaking plate, which uses graphene, nano-carbon fiber thermal conductive sheet, high-power gel, graphite layer, etc. Due to all these materials and technologies, it can achieve excellent heat dissipation performance.
At the same time, the Nubia Z40 Pro is the industry’s first to release a new aerospace-grade micro-nano-cavity graphene phase-change uniform temperature plate. It is filled with a micro-nano cavity structure and a solid-liquid dual-state phase change material. So it has a very high heat absorption and thermal conductivity. Compared with traditional phase change materials, the heat absorption performance is 140% higher, and the thermal conductivity is 300 times higher.
In other aspects, the Nubia Z40 Pro comes with dual speakers, an X-axis linear motor, and runs the first MyOS 12 operating system.
