Today, OPPO officially issued a statement saying that the OPPO Find X5 series smartphones will come on February 24. Among a few models, there will be one that will debut MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 premium chip.
According to other leaks, after the Find X5 series, there will be a large number of Dimensity 9000 flagships coming our way from different brands.
For instance, today, VIVO’s product manager posted a message on Weibo saying: “Nine thousand flagship? We are serious.” As you guess, he is talking about their own Dimensity 9000 flagship handset.
Apart from VIVO, another popular Chinese smartphone brand, Realme also announced its intentions for a Dimensity 9000 smartphone.
Xu Qi, vice president of Realme, posted a photo of the gym last night, suggesting that Realme is about to hold a new product launch conference. If so, it will become the second new product launch conference of Realme in 2022.
Previously, Wang Wei, vice president of Realme and president of the Realme global product line, revealed that the new Realme products equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 flagship processor had been arranged and may be released next month.
So we can speculate that at Realme’s next conference, we might see the company’s Dimensity 9000 mobile phone. Considering that the Dimensity 9000 is MediaTek’s high-end flagship Soc, the positioning of Realme’s new phone should also be a mid-to-high-end product.
In addition, MySmartPrice said that the model equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip may be named the Realme GT Neo 3 or Realme GT Neo 3 Gaming Version.
It is worth noting that the Realme GT Neo series is a popular product line of the company. The previous Realme GT Neo 2T came with MediaTek’s flagship processor dubbed the Dimensity 1200, and the initial price for early adopters was 1899 yuan ($300).
From this point of view, the new Realme Dimensity 9000 will be a cost-effective model. But we still have no idea how much it might cost.
Dimensity 9000 Features
The Dimensity 9000 adopts TSMC’s 4nm process as well as the new generation Armv9 architecture. The CPU has a built-in super core (Cortex-X2@3.05GHz), 3 large cores (Cortex-A710@2.85GHz), and 4 energy-efficient cores (Cortex-A510@1.8GHz). Plus, it comes with an 8MB L3 cache + 6MB SLC.
Judging from the known hardware specifications, the Dimensity 9000 is MediaTek’s closest rival to Qualcomm. Moreover, if believing benchmark scores, it performs even better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The overall specifications are exactly the same, but it adopts a more stable TSMC process.
