HMD is very active in the Indian market. It has already managed to bring many Nokia C-series, G-series, and X-series smartphones to this region. And as they all perform well, it’s reasonable that the manufacturer will release follow-up models this year. One of the abovementioned models was the Nokia G20. Yesterday, the successor of this handset appeared in GeekBench. So there is every reason to think the Nokia G21 is on the road and will go to the shelves in the near future. By the way, the Geekbench listing shows a UNISOC T606 processor. And this is just another example of how imperceptible companies can perform better.
In 2020, when the COVID-19 began spreading virally, there wasn’t a country that didn’t announce lockdowns. After a couple of months, when the factories and other firms began returning their traditional work cycle, it became known that the component shortage problem will last much longer than the pandemic. Even now, when two years have passed, the semiconductor makers can’t restore their common workload. In the smartphone industry, this mainly refers to the Taiwanese MediaTek and the American Qualcomm. But the chip makers like UNISOC benefit from this situation.
UNISOC T606
in September last year, the mentioned chip manufacturer released a new generation of octa-core architecture 4G chip platforms namely the UNISOC T616 and the UNISOC T606.
In terms of parameters, the UNISOC T606 is based on DynamIQ’s new generation of large and small core architecture design. It uses a 12nm process node. Also, it includes two 1.6 GHz Arm Cortex-A75 CPUs cores and six Arm Cortex-A55 cores. The T606 adopts the company’s self-developed image engine solution. It comes with a 3-core ISP (image signal processor) and 14 Bit image processing channel design.
