Huawei is in the process of updating a good part of its international mobiles to the latest version of its layer, EMUI 12. In this regard, the Chinese technology giant has announced today the official schedule for updating its 28 smartphones sold outside China. They will receive the global version of EMUI 12.
28 Smartphones Will Receive EMUI 12
Until the end of March 2022, EMUI 12 will be available for flagships of the Huawei P20, Huawei P30, and Huawei P40 families. All three lines include a standard edition and a Pro variant. And at the same time, only the 40th series offers users the top-end Pro + modification.
Also, the Chinese company plans to release an update for the top solutions of the Mate series. All 20-series smartphones will receive the update: Huawei Mate 20 / Mate 20 Pro, Porsche Design version, as well as Huawei Mate 20 4G / 5G. The manufacturer does not forget about the previous generation – Huawei Mate 10 / 10 Pro and the Porsche Design edition.
The flagship Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro are also on the list. In addition, owners of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and the foldable flagship Huawei Mate Xs will be able to install the new firmware version.
As for mid-range smartphones, EMUI 12 firmware will be available for six devices of the nova line. The update will roll out to Huawei nova 7/7i, nova 7 SE, nova 5T, and nova 4/4e by the end of the quarter. Also on the list are budget solutions Huawei Y9s, Huawei YY9 Prime 2019, and Huawei Y8p.
The list of devices is confirmed by Huawei itself, as well as the update period: these will take place during the first half of 2022. We do not know the specific dates of each device: the most logical thing is that the most modern and higher-end devices receive EMUI 12 first.
Recall, the EMUI 12 is based on Android 11 and offers a renewal of aesthetics, of installed apps, the brand improves the way content is shared between different devices and offers a unified control center in the area of notifications with which to manage from the connections to the quick settings of the phone.
