The Mi Mix Fold is one of the most popular Xiaomi devices. For some time now we have been hearing rumors about a new generation of this device. Many information said that the company is preparing to launch the successor of this phone, which is likely to be named Xiaomi MIX Fold 2.
In this regard, recently a famous leaker in the technology world in China, Digital Chat Station shared some information about the next folding screen smartphone of the brand, including the chipset and display.
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 with an incredible screen
Specifically, the latest leak says that Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will have an 8-inch main screen using LTPO AMOLED technology with a screen resolution of 2.5K and will have a 120Hz refresh rate. With a large size of 8 inches, the MIX Fold 2 will be roughly the size of Apple’s iPad mini 6 (8.3 inches).
Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will still own the design of its predecessor, that is, using a hinge that folds inward like the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to help protect the main screen inside. It is not clear if Xiaomi has a way to solve the screen wrinkles in the hinge area. As for the external secondary screen, there is no specific information.
In terms of hardware, Xiaomi will also equip the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Currently, the first folding screen smartphone equipped with this chip is the Honor Magic V. However, Xiaomi will have to design the components so that the heat dissipation of the device is the best because according to new information, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip will still be very hot if operating with strong tasks. To fix it, the smartphone needs a good heat transfer system.
For now, we do not know when it will be presented and, of course, the price at which it will be released. Of course, different leakers suggest that Xiaomi will most likely take advantage of some of the presentations of the products that it already has scheduled to make this Mix Fold 2 official.
Redmi K50 Series
We must remember that in addition to working on the second generation of its folding phone, there are several other Xiaomi devices that are expected to officially launch in the next few weeks or months. In February, the company will introduce the Redmi K50 series, which includes Redmi K50, K50 Pro, K50 Pro Plus, and K50 Gaming Edition.
Xiaomi is also developing two other devices codenamed “thor” and “loki”, which are expected to feature high-end camera configurations. In addition, there are a number of other mid-range products of this Chinese manufacturer that will launch in the near future, including the Redmi Note 12 series. In addition to the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, the company may also launch a smartphone with another foldable called MIX Flip to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series.
