According to the product planning, the OnePlus 10 series will also have models with lower configuration positioning the low-end segment. But apart from this, there will be another top-end model.
Recently, some whistleblowers revealed the key features of the OnePlus 10R for the first time. As they say, OnePlus may release this flagship phone in the second quarter. According to some sources, the OnePlus 10R might come before June 2022, due to the delay in the shipment of Dimensity series chips on the one hand, and to fully digest the inventory of the previous generation model.
In terms of features, the OnePlus 10R will sport the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip, which also has the top performance in the industry. It’s comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Moreover, this processor is cable of providing a better heat dissipation system than its rival. At the same time, the Dimensity 9000 is considered to cost cheaper.
The Dimensity 9000 has a built-in 5G modem supporting global 5G bands. But it’s limited to Sub-6 and lacks mmWave connectivity. So when this phone lands in the US, it will rely on mmWave for 5G coverage. The lack of connectivity in this band automatically makes the Dimensity 9000 an unfortunate choice for the popularity of the OnePlus 10 in several markets.
In addition, the OnePlus 10R is expected to come with a 120Hz AMOLED display. The storage variants will start at 8+128GB.
It is reported that the model with the R suffix was first launched by OnePlus last year, and it can be regarded as the most cost-effective flagship in the industry. The launch of the OnePlus 9R last year was favored by many consumers.
The previous model from this series, the OnePlus 9R officially debuted in the first half of last year. It came with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 flagship processor, UFS 3.1 flash storage, built-in 4500mAh battery, which supports 65W ultra-fast flash charging, etc.
In terms of screen, the OnePlus 9R uses a 6.55-inch flexible punch-hole straight screen. Also, it has an ultra-small chin of 3.05mm. The company executives said that it may be the most suitable screen for mobile gamers.
