The TCL brand is rather known for its TV screens. Moreover, it presented very interesting and very good-quality models at CES 2022. But it also manufactures smartphones, and the latest are the TCL 30, TCL 30+, and TCL 30 SE. Leaks would have made it possible to learn a little more about these devices. So, Let’s take a closer look at these upcoming devices.
The appearance of the brand’s next model would have leaked on the Twitter account of a rather well-known leaker, Evan Blass aka Evleaks.
TCL 30 and TCL 30+
The upcoming TCL 30 and TCL 30+ sport an identical design. In the punch-hole era, TCL opted for a flat screen with a U-shaped notch on both models. That’s not a bad thing, but the look from the front loudly screams a mid-range phone.
However, from the rear, the phones make a superior impression thanks to the beautiful camera island. We can see the inscription “50MP AI Camera” on the rear camera island on both devices, which confirms a 50-megapixel main shooter. But the details of the specifications of the other two cameras are unknown.
Moving on, both the TCL 30 and TCL 30+ also have identical button placements. The power button is indented and incorporates a capacitive fingerprint scanner. The volume controls are located above it on the right side. The leaked renders show the TCL 30 in light blue and the TCL 30+ in black. However, the company could offer phones with more color options.
TCL 30 SE
Meanwhile, the TCL 30 SE looks a bit different and appears to be the most affordable device of all. It has a flat-screen with a V-shaped notch in the center. We’ve got fairly thick bezels around the screen, but the chin is much larger, creating a design reminiscent of most other budget Android smartphones. The device also features an uninteresting rear, with three cameras, an LED flash unit, and a capacitive fingerprint scanner. This phone also has its power and volume buttons on the right side.
Unfortunately, not much information is available on the next three phones in the TCL 30 series. We wouldn’t be surprised if any of these models arrive as a rebranded TCL 30 XE 5G or TCL 30 V 5G for international markets.
Things should clear up in the coming weeks as the company prepares for the launch. Reports suggest that the new phones could appear at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2022 in Barcelona at the end of February. We will keep you informed.
