Before 2020, the tablet industry was considered a dying segment. But worldwide lockdowns made people buy large-screen products because they had to work and study from home. In effect, tablets became one of the most highly-demanded products on the market. Even Xiaomi had hurried to bury its Mi Pad line, resurrected it, and launch the very powerful Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series. We can tell similar stories for almost all brands that had ever launched tablets. Moreover, those brands that didn’t know how to make tablets began working on their own models. OPPO is among them. It’s been a few months that we are receiving various information concerning the first OPPO tablet.
Liu Bo, Vice President at OPPO, also personally revealed that OPPO will launch its first tablet PC in the first half of this year.
According to the latest news, the first OPPO tablet is ready. Moreover, this gadget is in tests and has managed to appear on the Geekbench benchmark website. The screenshot shows that the phone will come with a Snapdragon 870 chip, 6GB of memory, etc. As for the benchmark scores, they reached 4582 points and 12259 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
Prior to this, a Weibo tipster said that OPPO’s first tablet has been optimized as much as possible. Also, he revealed that the tablet will sport the Snapdragon 870 processor, support a 120Hz high refresh rate, and has begun to test multi-terminal interconnection.
Other than that, the OPPO tablet will support the collaborative operation of mobile phones and tablets, and will also open up data connectivity between notebooks, TVs, mobile phones, tablets, headphones, and watches in the future.
In addition, some information can also be obtained from the screenshots disclosed by the blogger. For example, the screenshots indicate that it supports two-speed refresh rates of 120Hz and 60Hz. Also, the resolution of the screenshots is 1600×2500, indicating that this OPPO tablet will be equipped with a 16:10 ratio screen that will have a 2K resolution.
Though the blogger said that the OPPO tablet has a small surprise in terms of price, he did not disclose any specific price range. But we guess OPPO will make it affordable for large masses otherwise it wouldn’t be able to make competition with others, including the aforementioned Xiaomi.
