The folding screen smartphones market still doesn’t have many players. It’s conditioned by the fact that making foldable screens is not easy. Also, they are too pricy and not all smartphone vendors want to fight in this segment. But Honor, after independence, has decided to fill the gap left by Huawei. Its Honor Magic V is on the road and if believing in all leaks and rumors, it’s going to become a true rival to Samsung, Xiaomi, and Moto.
The Honor Magic V will be launched on January 10th in China. Today, ahead of the launch, MySmartPrice has provided the renders and the complete specifications of the Honor Magic V, courtesy of Ishan Agarwal.
As the source proves, our protagonist will be available for purchase in three color variants – Orange, White, and Black. Under the hood, it will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It also integrates an Adreno 730 GPU and is paired with 12GB of RAM. There will be a few storage options of 256GB and 512GB. It will run Android 12, with the company’s MagicUI 6 on top.
When looking at the renders, we can see that the Magic V in Orange appears to have a faux leather finish. At the same time, the White and Black color versions seem to have a glass rear panel. Also, the Black variant has a glossy finish, whereas the White model has a striped pattern on it.
The screen will have a curvature on one side and will adopt a centered-punch-hole-notch. On the opposite side, we can find a triple-camera with dual-tone LED flashes. By the way, the screen will be 6.45 inches in size and use an OLED panel with 2560×1080 pixel resolution, 431ppi pixel density, and 120Hz refresh rate. As for the main screen, it will be a 7.9-inch OLED panel with 2272×1984 pixel resolution, 381ppi pixel density, and a 90Hz refresh rate.
The Honor Magic V will be good in terms of photography as well. The module will carry a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. Another 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens will come with an f/2.2 aperture. Finally, the third 50MP spectrum enhanced camera will have an f/2.0 aperture. The manufacturer has powered it by a 42MP selfie shooter with an f/2.4 aperture.
Lastly, the Magic V will sport a 4,750mAh battery supporting 66W fast charging. It will measure 160.4 × 72.7 × 14.3mm when folded, but when unfolded, its dimensions will be 160.4 × 141.1 × 6.7mm. The weight is controlled at 293 grams.
