TCL Book 14 Go

TCL has been always known for TVs and other electronics. But this is also a brand that pays much attention to smartphones as well. At CES, it was the first to launch smartphones. And yesterday, at CES 2022, this company uncovered its first laptop dubbed the Book 14 Go.

The TCL Book 14 Go is a 14.1-inch Windows 11 laptop, which is also equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. Under the hood, our protagonist also carries a large-capacity battery, which is capable of providing 12 hours of autonomy on a single charge. Plus, this laptop supports 4G LTE connectivity. Well, there are other laptops on the market that come with a Snapdragon chip. But they cost a lot. In this sense, the TCL Book 14 Go is a budget notebook, starting at $349. This device will go on sale in select regions in the second quarter.

When talking about Snapdragon-powered laptops, we should keep in mind that there are different categories of chips and this will have a huge impact on the price. In this sense, TCL could design a low-budget laptop because the Book 14 Go is using Qualcomm’s affordable Snapdragon 7c platform. They have been made for entry-level PCs and Chromebooks. But the Snapdragon 7c enables both LTE connectivity and battery life. So like all current notebooks do, this one is always switched on. Also, this is a portable laptop with a depth of 13.95 mm and a body that weighs 1.3kg.

If summarizing the key features of the TCL Book 14 Go, it boasts the latest Win11 system, a 14.1-inch 1366×768 resolution screen, the Snapdragon 7c generation chip, a built-in 40Wh battery, 125GB of storage, a Type-C interface, and Wi-Fi 5 support.

Besides releasing its first laptop, TCL also unleashed a new tablet. The TCL NXTPAPER 10s comes with full-color paper-like display technology. The latter is a low-power reflective LCD that doesn’t need backlighting. One of the main characteristics is that it has an anti-glare finish and you can see what’s on the display from any angle. This tech also reduces blue light by over 50%. It is ideal for studying and for taking notes with the T Pen stylus. This tablet will be available for purchase in Europe and China later this month for $249.

The company is going to unleash two affordable tablets as well, the $129 TAB 8 4G and the $99 TAB 10L, in the first quarter.
