Although the Xiaomi 12 series was presented last week in China, the highest model of the entire range, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, is still pending. At the moment Xiaomi has not commented on this model. A terminal that will be the most complete terminal of the company for this series in 2022 and that will have a large photographic section, which is confirmed by a test unit made entirely of aluminum.
In fact, this type of prototype is created based on leaked specifications for third parties to start producing accessories dedicated to products that have not yet reached the market. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, although it is the flagship model of the recently launched Xiaomi 12 line, is not expected to be announced until February. Therefore, some details may be different from what we will see in the final model.
As you can see in the photos, the front of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra houses a micro-curved screen similar to the one that Xiaomi’s digital series is used to. While, its rear camera module is in two layers, with a rectangular step at the bottom and around protrusion in the center, just like the case shown in the previous leak.
As you can see from the side shots, the phone is relatively thick, with a noticeable bulge in the camera module and beveled edges. The bottom of the phone has a Type-C port, a SIM card slot, and holes for a speaker and microphone.
Even so, the large circular element surrounding the camera setup’s sensors seems to be part of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra‘s final proposal. In general, the prototype suggests that the cell phone will have a screen with curved edges and evidently thick thickness, even without considering the camera module.
At the moment the leakers have not revealed official details on the hardware equipment of the camera, but we still expect very high-quality optics. Overall, cinematic-quality solutions capable of recording at very high resolution and in low light are not to be excluded.
According to the little information that emerged, we expect the main sensor to be the 50MP Samsung GN5. In support, there could be a 48MP sensor with 2x optical zoom, a 48MP sensor with 5x zoom, and finally a 48MP lens with a 10x periscope lens.

Other supposed specs of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra include using Leica lenses and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 platform, up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage; a battery with a capacity of at least 4500mAh; with wired and wireless fast charging. However, we’ll definitely find out more details in the coming days.
