At CES 2022, XGIMI has launched a new ultra-short-throw laser projector, this model called Aura is actually another high-end model with support for 4K output, HDR10, a bright 2400 ANSI lumen lamp, dual 15W speakers, and 8-point keystone correction. For additional information, let’s take a look at what the novelty has to offer.
XGIMI Aura is an ultra-short-throw 4K projector that can project up to a 150-inch screen and be less than 18 inches from the wall. Or about 120 inches when you are 11.7 inches from the wall.
Besides, this 4K projector has 80% of the DCI-P3 color range and about 1.07 billion colors. So, it gives you a really amazing picture, especially for a projector. Apart, it is also quite bright, reaching 2400 ANSI lumens, which is bright enough to use in a well-lit room and still be able to see the image.
Under the hood, the Aura is powered by MediaTek’s MT9629 platform, and you get 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The company claims that the Aura is a true “all-in-one” home theater solution and, as such, has four Harman Kardon 15W speakers (two tweeters; two subwoofers). There is also support for Dolby audio.
As for connectivity, XGIMI Aura has three HDMI 2.0 ports with one ARC, three USB 2.0 ports, optical and 3.5mm out, and there’s also the option of wired Ethernet thanks to the Gigabit RJ45 port. For wireless connectivity, you’re looking at Wi-Fi ac and Bluetooth 5.0.
Thanks to a lot of connectivity, so if you watch a lot of Netflix, you can hook up a Chromecast to Google TV, an Apple TV, or even a Roku and get it.
XGIMI Aura was unveiled in October 2021, and it is now available on the brand’s website for $2499. It retails for £2149 ($2895) in the U.K. and is also available in India for an eye-watering ₹350,000 ($4699). The projectors of XGIMI are sold on Amazon as well, but the Aura is yet to make its way to the retailer, and at the moment, it’s exclusively sold on its official website.
