Finally, iQOO launched its new flagship series. Both the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro mobile phones are out and they are going to make tough competition in the premium phones market.
iQOO 9 Pro Design
The iQOO 9 series has created a completely symmetrical panoramic image module, and challenged the industry’s processing limit of 0.7mm R angle. It perfectly integrates the multiple functions of beauty, camera, heat dissipation, and heat insulation.
In terms of the back design, iQOO 9 Pro continues iQOO’s classic “Legend Edition” design, combining glossy white glass with classic carbon fiber textures for the first time to create a flow of light and shadow under the glass that the texture implies.
The iconic three-color stripes are still eye-catching. Red represents the passion for racing, black represents the pursuit of technological innovation, and blue represents the joy of exploring the unknown.
The back cover of the glass material adopts the matte AG splicing process, and the glass surface uses the micro-film condensing AG process, which collides with the three-color stripes of the high-gloss treatment.
iQOO 9 Pro Specs
Hardware
The iQOO 9 series comes with a new generation of Snapdragon 8 mobile platform, based on a new 4nm process technology and the new X2 super core. The Antutu score is 1072013. Compared with the Snapdragon 888, the CPU performance is increased by 20% and power consumption is reduced by 30%.
They also use an enhanced version of LPDDR5 memory. iQOO is the industry’s first to use the overclocked version of UFS 3.1. It has a Turbo mode, which boosts the frequency to 1.3 times that of the previous generation. Plus, it supports smart frequency reduction. The maximum memory capacity is 12GB. But due to the memory fusion 2.0 technology, it can take an additional 4GB from the storage.
Camera
The phone debuts Samsung’s 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN5 photosensitive element with a sensor area of 1/1.57 inches and supports true 8K video shooting. Its unit pixel is 1.0μm. After the pixel is 4 in 1, the size of a single-pixel reaches 2.0μm. The dual performance of ultra-high-definition pixels and large pixels allows the GN5 to capture bright, accurate, and detailed colors regardless of dark light or daytime.
It also brings a 150° fisheye ultra-wide-angle main lens that is mainly used in sports cameras. Compared with traditional mobile phone ultra-wide-angle lenses, the iQOO 9 Pro’s field of view has been increased by 20%. Many special fish-eye effect modes are very suitable for Vlogging.
Screen
The iQOO 9 Pro has a 6.78-inch Samsung E5 material OLED flexible curved screen with a resolution of 3200×1440. This display also supports 100% P3 wide color gamut coverage and 10bit color depth, HDR10/10+ presentation, a global maximum brightness of 1000nit, and a local peak brightness of 1500nit. As you can see, the display effect reaches the ceiling level of the industry.
At the same time, the phone’s display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. It adopts the latest LTPO stepless variable speed 2.0 technology. Simply put, the screen refresh rate can be intelligently switched between 1-120Hz to achieve “low brush usage scenarios to reduce power consumption.” In comparison to 120Hz, in 1Hz usage scenarios, LTPO continuously variable speed 2.0 technology can save 47.4% of the power.
Fingerprint Recognition
This phone uses an ultrasonic 3D wide-area fingerprint recognition module jointly developed based on Qualcomm 3D Sonic’s second-generation sensor technology. The fingerprint recognition area is 578mm², and the unlocking speed is as fast as 0.2s. It supports unlocking under wet hands and outdoor bright light. You only need to put your finger on the screen one time.
Battery And Charging
The iQOO 9 Pro has a built-in 4700mAh battery and supports 120W wired fast charging, which can be fully charged from 1% to 100% in 19 minutes. iQOO 9 Pro also has 50W wireless flash charging and 10W reverse charging.
The product also comes with iQOO’s first 120W GaN charger. It weighs about 135g and measures 61×52.5×29mm, which is 26% smaller than the previous generation. The charging head adopts a Type-C interface, supports PD and PPS protocols. Besides charging the phone, it also offers 65W charging for compatible devices, such as laptops. Lastly, the phone supports 50W wireless flash charging and 10W reverse charging.
Price
The iQOO 9 Pro 8GB+256GB costs 4999 yuan ($787); the 12GB+256GB model is priced at 5499 yuan ($865), and the 12GB+512GB variant is 5999 yuan ($944).
