Nvidia has no equals in the GPU market. Today, it released a few new graphics cards for laptops and desktop PCs in face of GeForce RTX 3050, 3080 Ti, 3070 Ti, and 3090 Ti. They all belong to the RTX series.
Among them, the 3080 Ti is aimed at laptops, while the 3050 is made for desktops. Though there is not much information concerning the 3090 Ti, we can expect it to be a high-end graphics card with a good performance.
Today, at CES 2022 held in Las Vegas, Nvidia issued a statement saying that more than 160 gaming and Nvidia Studio laptops will be uncovered at the event. At the same time, the manufacturer announced new RTX-accelerated games. Also, it talked about the expansion of both GeForce Now cloud gaming and the launch of a free version of Nvidia Omniverse for creators and artists.
“GeForce RTX is transforming gaming and opening up vast digital worlds. Today’s announcements further establish GeForce as the ultimate platform for gamers and creators,” said Jeff Fisher, senior vice president of consumer products at Nvidia, in a press briefing. “And GeForce Now continues to grow as our platform for reaching billions of gamers.”
Other than that, Fisher talked about current gaming laptops saying they are getting thinner and cheaper. And though they are equipped with more powerful graphics cards, they are still affordable.
Due to the latest generation of CPUs, these gaming notebooks offer a wide range of form factors. We mean they come with dual screens or they are convertibles. And we are even not talking about 14-inch screens with G-Syn and 1440p displays.
For instance, laptops with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, the RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards that deliver much higher performance than the desktop Nvidia Titan RTX start at $2,500. Another example, the new GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is 70% faster than RTX 2070 Super laptops. Moreover, they are capable of delivering 100 frames per second at 1440p resolution and they start at $1,500.
More interestingly, laptops powered by the mentioned graphics cards will be available for purchase starting February 1, 2022.
As for the RTX 3090 Ti, it will come with 24GB of GDDR6X running at 21 Gbit/s, the fastest memory ever. The GPU will operate at 40 teraflops for shaders, 78 teraflops for ray tracing, and 320 teraflops for AI computing. However, this is all we know at the moment.
Lastly, the GeForce RTX 3050 comes with a balanced performance over efficiency. As the company proves, its mission is to play the latest ray-traced games at over 60 frames per second. This graphics card has 8GB of GDDR6 memory and starts at $250. The first models will appear on the market starting January 27.
