In India, Xiaomi is known for providing well-spec’d smartphones and smartphome accessories at affordable prices. But with the announcement of their newest product offering in India, it seems Xiaomi might be trying to shed that description and gain a more premium-focused branding. Their new Mi QLED TV is nice, but it ain’t cheap.

At a Glance:
- 75-Inch 4K LED Panel
- 120Hz refresh rate and Android TV OS
- Priced at 1,19,999 INR ($1,610)
- Expected to go on on sale later this month.
The Mi QLED’s premium 75-inch 4K display boasts quantum-dot technology with local dimming HDR (With Dolby Vision) and a 120Hz refresh rate with MEMC. In terms of audio, a six speakers pump out 30W of sound, though most users will be pairing external speakers with a TV of this price point.
The Mi QLED is also a full-fledged smart TV, running on a custom skinned version of Android TV 10 with built-in Chromecast and a microphone for Google Assistant. Unlike many competitors, the microphone for commands is a long-range mic built into the TV itself, rather than being located in the remote. Xiaomi says that Amazon Alexa will be supported in the future, but it isn’t supported at launch.
All of the smart TV features are powered by a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 CPU, Mali G52 MP2 GPU, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. Three HDMI 2.1 ports, two USB ports, an Ethernet port, and a pair of single optical and 3.5mm output jacks provide adequate (though not particularly notable) connectivity. Bluetooth 5.0 and 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi 5 support are on-board for those preferring not to use a wired connection.
The Xiaomi Mi QLED 75 TV will be available in India on April 27, priced at Rs 1,19,999. It’s unclear if the TV will make its way to any other markets, but we’ll keep you updated on any news.
