Many have been awaiting the next release in OPPO’s popular Reno line of “midrange-flagship” smartphones, and it seems like the latest Reno6 may be just around the corner. There has yet to be any official announcement, but tipster Abhishek Yadav today spotted a certification leak and posted it to Twitter. Posting several pics, Yadav claims that the Reno6 is already finished and awaiting certification. According to Yadav, the Oppo was found on the 3C certification site with model number PEPM00. He went on to expand upon specs with followup rumors.

The big spec news is that the Reno6 is expected to boast 65W fast charging tech, which is a huge upgrade, but also increasingly becoming a norm in Android flagships these days. So, it may not be enough to set the Reno6 apart from competitors. It also looks like the Reno6 display will feture a 90Hz refresh rate screen, and internal specs include 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. It also looks like multiple variants are undergoing certification, which are likely to be tiers of RAM and storage configuration.
It looks as though the Reno6 will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200, a newer chip from the Taiwanese firm. This may be dissappointing to those expecting a true flagship experience, but historically, the Reno line of smartphones provides a lot of power for the price.
When is it launching?
It might be a while. While the Reno6 seems to be just around the corner, Oppo is still aggressively focused on their existing model, the Reno5. Earlier this month, Oppo released the upgraded Reno 5 F version with a more powerful MediaTek Helio P95 SoC in Kenya. They also recently launched a “Marvel Edition” Reno5 F as a limited edition devicde. In February, it introduced the Reno5K and in January it launched the Reno5 Pro 5G in India, and a Reno 5 Z is also expected to launch soon. So, it’s unclear how long Oppo is planning to wait before officially announcing the Reno6, but it may be a long wait.
